The Palm Beach Gardens-basedd staircase manufacturer andits owner, Alphonso J. Cheponixs III, filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions Thursday inthe U.S. Bankruptcyy Court for Southern Florida. The compant petition said it has assets of lessthan $500,000 and debt of $1 millio n to $10 million. The Cheponis petitiojn reported the same ranges for his personal David Merrill, an attorney with in Boca represents Cheponis and the company. The largest creditors in the company’zs bankruptcy include a $1 million securedd claim by , of Atlanta; an unsecured claim of $33,6009 by Sample at Park of Aventura; and $17,000 by the law firm.
